Hylton Castle Project
intoitMEDIA has partnered up with the Hylton Castle Project on a number of briefs. The aim of the project is to transform the 14th century Sunderland castle into a living, working building that benefits the local community and visitors. Part of the aim is to give young people the chance to develop skills, get some work experience, and learn about local history.
We worked with young people on the team to produce videos that can be shown at the castle. We trained them how to use cameras and mobiles to make short video clips that would eventually be edited into some spoken history videos. We also did some basic interview techniques with the young people so they could interview older relatives and wider members of the local community.
We also produced a video for the future Hylton Castle mobile app, working with local historian Tom Mulholland (aka Technology Tom!). The video was shot on location at Hylton Castle and discussed local inventor Joseph Swan who attended school at the castle in the 17th century. We then edited the footage for the team ahead of its inclusion in the mobile app.
What do our clients say?
It is a pleasure working with intoitMEDIA we couldn’t have asked for a more friendly, accommodating and professional team to help us with our Ghosts of Hylton Castle Oral History Project. They had a clear understanding of what we were trying to achieve and the unbelievable amount of time they spent putting Business name Page 22 of 17 together an integrated programme of activities has helped us achieve an amazing end product.
intoitMEDIA was procured by Sunderland City Council to provide website building services for the 5th Sunderland Short Film Festival in 2019. From the start I found Abbie, Adam and Ethan to be a very dynamic team with a host of ideas and solutions to bring to the important build- up and promotional strategy for 2019. Although the company was procured to design the festival website for 2019, the variety of complementary skills that the intoitMEDIA team brought to the project gave a real boost to the impetus of our marketing strategy. 2019 was our most successful festival to date, due in part to intoitMEDIA’s contribution and I would have no hesitation in engaging intoitMEDIA again on future projects.
“Being a technological Luddite, the ability to develop a fully functioning e-commerce website is way beyond my capabilities, and to be honest, I have absolutely no desire to build my own website. Fortunately, the intoitMEDIA team love building websites! At our initial meeting, they took a real interest in me and my business idea. I vaguely knew what I wanted, but had no idea what I needed! Abbie, Adam and Ethan were able to make sense of my ramblings and come up with a Petmitts website that I love and am proud of. At times, they appear to talk in a different language (in my world, plug-ins are things that make your home smell nice!!); however, they always explain things to me in simple language but in a non-patronising, professional way.”
